My personal goals may seem simple to a person who does not suffer from a health issue.
My goals were definitely attainable but as an MS patient, the simple can seem monumental.
Being able to stand for an elementary school awards presentation was my first accomplishment. I next decided that I would be a Lunch Supervisor on the playground where my girls went. This required constant movement over a large area for an hour and a half each lunch period, five days a week. Sounds reasonable but in fact, it took over a year to develop the endurance needed for such a feat. The next hurdle, or goal, was having to traipse across large fields while carrying snacks, chairs, sunscreen, and soccer balls to games and practices three times a week. I felt like such an accomplished Mom having reached our field with thirty pounds of soccer stuff a mile and a half from the parking area. If standing and walking were a major milestone, having to follow directions to all of the dance competitions and Tae Kwon Do tournaments were mentally challenging as well. The only way that I could function through this intermittent brain fog was to engage myself physically. I would do situps, push-ups or leg raises to free my brain for more challenging subjects like driving directions or even recipes.
As the girls got older the demand for physical endurance became less and less, but both my emotions and cognitive processing abilities took a significant hit. Trigonometry was bad enough in High School but now even sit-ups could not help. I needed to develop a work regimen to stay sharp, focused, and able to endure any situation. As a newly divorced, former stay-at-home mother the world seemed daunting! I at least had my degree but that was in customer service nearly a lifetime ago! As I would muddle through my days, good and bad, I knew I had to do something. While I was going to the gym to develop a regular workout routine I noticed the need I and others like me, might have to require a way to maintain and improve my fitness level in the privacy of our own homes. By that, I mean my baseline normalcy at least.
Now I got serious about trying to find a way to encourage and assist people with their home therapy needs. I had utilized some of the products on this site at the gym but had wanted to provide more for pain management and home therapy needs. Please explore this site to see if there are any products that would enable you to achieve your baseline goals and even step above your current fitness level.
I believe that you can reach your own goals,
simple or complex, with a combination of our products along with determination and commitment.
